Club Rules

1. On entering the farmyard stop when indicated to and check it is safe to proceed (at no more than 5mph) Farm traffic takes priority.

2. No flying whilst the field is being mowed

3. Flying must take place NORTH of the hedge which on your left as you enter the field, this may have to be relaxed at times because of the wind direction

4. All I.C. models to have an effective silencer. Petrol and turbines must use a drip try to protect the grass when re fuelling

5. No models to be flown closer than 50 metres to pilot’s box, (marked with orange cones) and no model to be flown towards or taxied back towards the pits, (i.e. zig zag back to the pits)

6. Both I.C and electric models must be restrained and point out towards the field when starting a motor or plugging a battery into the model. Hands must be kept clear of prop on electric models. Do not stand at front or side when a motor is being started. No loose clothing is to be worn.

7. Transmitters must be kept with you at all times while the model is ‘live’ No mobile phone to brought on to the flight line. 35meg transmitters must use the peg board.

8. Jets and turbines must not be flown when there are any combustible crops i.e. wheat, barley, or dry grasses in adjacent fields.

9. Helicopters not to be flown at the same time as fixed wing.

10. Give a clear announcement of your intentions, i.e. ‘TAKING OFF’, ‘LANDING’,’ RETRIEVING.’

11. Members without an A certificate must ask the permission of a committee member before flying solo.

12. If the wind swings and it becomes unsafe to fly the pits must be moved to a better location on the field.

14. The last person to leave the field is responsible for making sure everything is locked away and the gas and power is switched off in the hut.

15. Juniors must be accompanied by an adult member, parent or guardian
